In this hands-on class, you will be introduced to the unique chemistry of indigo dye while building two different types of indigo vat.
You will learn :
how to construct a vat,
how it works,
how to trouble shoot your vat,
how to achieve varying depths of colour, and
we will explore simple resist methods for acheiving blue and white patterns in your indigo dyed cloth.
You will receive two cotton bandannas and one cotton test strip to dye in each vat. (Four bandannas and two test strips in total)
Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty in!
