Eco Printing in the Dirty Pot
Eco Printing in the Dirty Pot
Saturday, June 7, 1-3pm (2 hrs) and Sunday, June 8, 2025 1-2pm (1 hr)
$60 + $10 materials fee
Using locally harvested, dye-rich plant materials, you will learn to create beautiful prints on fabric. The dirty pot takes advantage of the reactions between iron, acid, and tannins to extract and embed beautiful and lasting colour onto your fabric.
Day 1: You will learn about the process including how to set up your own dirty pot at home. We will discuss which plants materials we have found to be most successful. You will choose plant material to work with and create your own composition on two 100% cotton bandannas. We will show you how to bundle your pieces and get them started in the pot.
Day 2: Come back for a one hour unveiling session!
