I am Lisa Sylvestre and asil is my textile based studio in Windsor, Ontario. Located in the historic Walkerville district of Windsor, I have deep roots in this neighbourhood. Exposure to the art and craft of woodworking and photography, home textiles and tailoring, practised by close family members shaped who I am as an artist.
Locally grown and foraged plant based dyes currently play a central role in the work I produce but fundamentally, I am a quilt maker.
